2008 Poll Standings For College Basketball
The college basketball poll is not dependant on the wins and losses of a team but on how good a team is. This is what many of the coaches and players are striving for. Last week, the 2008 top ten teams were named. The Clemson Tigers are holding the top spot in the college basketball polls with a 19 and 0 winning streak. The Tigers have not been in the top seat since 1983.This ranking was lost within a couple of hours of receiving the final scores of other ongoing games. The Clemson Tigers moved into the top seat when they overcame Tulsa last week. Next in line is Kansas with a 20 and 0 record as they stole the win from Iowa State. In the number three spot is one of North Carolina’s home teams; the Duke Blue Devils. This is a major achievement for Duke since they have not made it this high in the polls since holding the first place spot in 2005. The UNC Tarheels, also in North Carolina, are down in the number four spot. Coming next is UCLA Bruins and Georgetown. Hopefully, these teams can either improve their standings if they are not in the top of the list or, for those in top place, stay there for as long as possible.
